Flybe Placed Into Administration With All Operations Ceased
On January 27th, Flybe, the British regional airline, announced that it had entered administration once again and would be ceasing all operations. This announcement comes less than a year after the airline had relaunched its services. All scheduled flights, both past and future, have been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
This collapse marks the second downfall for the carrier, as it had previously entered administration in March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. The airline had been sold and rebranded as Flybe Limited under new ownership, with plans to relaunch in 2021. However, despite the efforts to revive the airline, it was unable to sustain its operations and has once again entered administration.
This news will have a significant impact on passengers and employees alike. Many travelers will be affected, and the jobs of countless employees are once again at risk. Paul Smith, Consumer Director at the UK Civil Aviation Authority, has issued a statement regarding the situation.
